MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 2012

We blinked and we were already back in Los Angeles. Incredible how time just disappears when every minute of every day is accounted for...but we had an unbelievable time in Minnesota this past weekend. There are so many people we didn't get a chance to see and we are sorry if you were one of them...next time...we promise!

Sylvie is really starting to come into her own - a larger than life personality with so many different shades of color, she'll never take NO for an answer, her sweet voice - charming in a way that ever so convincing. Before you know it she has you wrapped around her finger and you'd do anything for her. She's already worldly at two years four months, well travelled, and full of life's experiences - we should all be this lucky.

Rather then go into great detail about every move we made over the past few days, and we made a lot, I leave you with a few photos. Thanks to the Susan & Don, my dad, and my bubby for hosting such a wonderful weekend.

DISNEYLAND 2012

Wow! My 100th Blog.

In every young persons life there comes a time for that rite of passage known as Disneyland. For Sylvie, we decided that day should come on the 843rd day of her life, which happened to fall on Mother's Day this year. We'd been looking forward to this moment for quite some time. Somehow we managed to arrive at the park by 815 in the morning, inside by 845 and It's a Small World under our belt by 905. If there is one thing that Amanda and I do well together it's setting goals and sticking to a plan - we never deviate. Sylvie was amazed from the moment we arrived, I guess more in a shock to be fair. As the park began to fill up, it became clear that Sylvie would turn into more of an observer, so much information to take in and first time experiences to soak up. It was quite amazing to witness.

There were many highlights over the course of the day. Sylvie in awe of It's a Small World as Amanda came tears watching Sylvie experience this special moment like her many many years ago. All our faces in the Nemo submarine window staring out into the water, flying on Dumbo as a family, Sylvie sitting ever so still in Amanda's lap as she had her sillouette cut out and framed, to falling asleep minutes before meeting her favorite Disney character 'Ariel' to then awake and most likely think she was still in a dream, sitting next to her dad on the Pirates of the Carribean ride as we journeyed back in time, and to top it off with an amazing Disney parade where Sylvie clocked Donald Duck over a 100 yards out. And finally Sylvie in rare form, trying to strike a bargain with Amanda and I about which presents she'd get to take home.

Words can't really describe the day. I'll let the photos speak for themself. Oh and by the way, everything shot on my new Leica M9...that's a whole different story that I hope to tell you about soon. If you want to see the 111 photo set please let me know, for now here are some of my favorites.
