PALM SPRINGS

Our original plan was to go to Newport Beach with the Dames for the weekend, but crappy weather was approaching so we switched up the plan last minute and decided to head to that little oasis two hours south east of Los Angeles...Palm Springs. Totally worth it and a great choice at the end of the day. Mid 90s, humid, just the way we like it.

Cruised down Friday morning, at the pool by 1:06pm. Sylvie was in heaven, she thought swimming in the kiddy pool was the coolest thing on the planet. Funniest part was she had trouble finding her footing at first so every now and then she would plop head first into the water and then have trouble getting back on her feet, had to keep a close eye...at least she learned how to hold her breath!

Cruised El Paseo before we went to Tommy Bahama's for dinner, of course we had trouble picking a table - do we sit inside, do we sit outside, is it too hot, is there too much shpritz, is the table in no mans land where the waiter could forget about you, are they going to refill my drink...all that stuff is important damn it! It was a great dinner though. Sylvie in rare form, didn't want to eat, in fact the whole weekend all she wanted was french fries...and only french fries.

Next day more of the same. We had breakfast on the patio at the hotel and were back at the pool. Nap and poo poo later and we were back at El Paseo for dinner...pizza this time.

Sunday we decided to go to The Living Desert Zoo. Sylvie thought the giraffes were the coolest thing...she couldn't stop oooing. No nap and on the road by 430pm, straight shot back to LA. The weekend was a blur and we had just a wonderful time with Grandma Susu and Papa. So happy that we all got to be together, words won't do justice.

Trying to work on the craft, become a better photographer too, being disciplined by sticking pretty much to manual and aperture priority mode, staying away from programmed auto, its fun. A lot of trial and error but learning a lot doing it. Shot around 300 frames over the weekend. D3 stayed in the bag, D300s did all the work. Check out a few below.

How beautiful is my wife!!!

And Sylvie!!!
